A few rules
As dictionaries give words with their vowels, so will this page, but here the vowelling (a tedious task) will be kept to a minimum. The following should be kept in mind about the vowelling of the word(s) displayed above:
- a ـَ before a ا will not be displayed
- a ـُ before a و will not be displayed
- a ـِ before a ي will not be displayed
- a ـٌ a the end of a word will not be displayed
- the English equivalent of a verb will appear in two forms: the 3rd person masculine singular of the past tense, and that of the present tense
- the Arabic noun after the ج: on the second line is the plural form
Also, in general, a noun in Arabic must be learned together with its plural form, and a verb its present tense form.
